What does 20/20 vision mean?  Simply put if you have 20/20 vision you are able to clearly see at 20 feet what normally would be viewable from at that distance. A patient with 20/100 vision for example means the patient needs to be as close as 20 feet to see what a patient with normal vision can see at 100 feet.

Does 20/20 vision mean I have perfect vision? Not necessarily. By having 20/20 vision a patient would have the sharpness or clarity of vision at a distance. Several other factors can figure into having perfect vision, for example focusing, depth perception, color vision to name a few.
